Let me start with some background to this topic
Over the years in study and constant observation, I’ve come to realize that most people talk a lot about what they want and rightfully desire however the results typically aren’t there; or if the results are there, they come with a tremendous amount of stress and fear. Having examined many peak performers and mentors, I’ve found that while everyone is the same in the aspect of having a physical form, their paradigms of achievement are galaxies apart! Our subconscious mind houses our paradigm, it is what dictates the results we achieve no matter what we may consciously think, say, or do.
An example of this is the expectations of a child. A child born into a wealthy family expects success, while a child born into a poor family hopes for success. Allow me to make a distinction here: by ‘wealthy’ and ‘poor’ I am not only talking about finances, I am also talking about personal values, relationships, education, personal development, work ethic, health, spirituality, etc. People can be financially wealthy, but poor in relationships or health. People can also be wealthy in education, but poor in finances. But how do we develop harmonious wealth? How can we take steps towards being fulfilled?
In order to have better results, we must reshape our paradigm. Our paradigm essentially is the box that our subconscious mind is occupying. It is the collective belief system we have about ourselves and the world around us. The best way I can convey this across to you is with this statement: “The only reason we settle for earning our current annual income is because we don’t already know how to earn that amount every month.” Simply put, we settle for earning $50,000/year because we don’t know how to earn $50,000/month. Is this such a ridiculous claim? NO! People around the world are already earning $50,000/month and more. So what separates us? Our physical bodies are essentially the same, we live on the same planet, we are affected by the same 4 seasons, precipitation, the global economy, etc.

Therefore, by simple logic, if we are all outwardly affected by similar things, and yet there is a great divide between results achieved, then it must be us. So let us take a moment to examine ‘Us’. What runs ‘Us’? Consciously we are only responsible for so much, because the majority of our lives are controlled by our subconscious minds. Consider this: when was the last time you had to consciously think about maintaining your body temperature; the flow of blood in your veins; the beating of your heart; the growing of your fingernails; the growing of your hair?? It is quite safe to say that we control 17% of our life through our conscious mind, while 83% of our life is controlled by our subconscious mind. No doubt you’ve come across the expression that our brains are like computers. Since that is the case, we must understand that we function according to an operating system, just like a computer does.
Your computer/laptop that you have right now is capable of functioning on different operating systems. For example, a PC can run on Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7. The limiting factor in this example is not the computer, because we are using the same computer. The experience will differ by operating system. The newer the operating system, the greater our experience will be. That’s how we function as well. Our brains are computers. Our current operating system is a cocktail of what our parents have taught us, our teachers have taught us, the tv programs we watched, the news we read and listened to, the music we listened to, the books we read, etc.
.
It is because of this that a child who grows up in a wealthy household expects success and abundance; because that is what they see and hear every day from their parents. However, a child who grows up in a poor household in the same way comes to adopt the operating system of their parents and as such expects lack. Keep in mind once again, that this operating system applies not only to finances, but also personal values, habits, relationships, health, spirituality, etc. Simple fact: a child brought up in a Catholic household is automatically Catholic, a child brought up in an Islamic household is automatically Islamic. We are automatically our parents. This sets our paradigm. We see, relate to, and function in the world according to this paradigm.
This part is about awareness. Once you are aware, then you can take corrective action. If you are not aware you are walking on thin ice, you cannot protect yourself. If you are not aware someone is closing a door while your hand is in the way, you will get hurt.
If we wish to achieve different/better/faster results, then we must reprogram our subconscious minds to instil a new belief system – one that will support us in the success and life we wish to achieve.
